PDF to PNG

A PDF to PNG converter renders every page of a PDF as a separate PNG image, at a resolution you choose, using lossless compression so text edges, fine lines and diagrams come out exactly as sharp as they appear in the source document. Multi-page PDFs are delivered as a single .zip file containing every page's image.

PNG is the better choice whenever crispness matters more than file size — screenshots, diagrams, charts, line-art illustrations, and pages that are mostly text. Unlike JPG, PNG does not discard any image data to save space, so there is no risk of the soft, slightly blurred edges that lossy compression can introduce around sharp lines or small text.

PNG also supports transparency, which matters if a page's content needs to be placed over a different background afterward — a logo or diagram lifted from a PDF, for instance, where a plain white background would otherwise look out of place once composited elsewhere.

The resolution you choose still controls image size versus detail: 96 DPI for compact, web-ready images, 150 DPI as a solid general default, and 300 DPI when the image needs to hold up to printing or close zooming. Because PNG does not compress as aggressively as JPG, PNG files are typically larger than a JPG of the same page at the same resolution — a trade-off worth keeping in mind for very large, image-heavy documents.

Businesses convert PDF diagrams, charts and mockups to PNG for use in presentations and documentation where sharpness matters. Individuals convert scanned certificates or forms to PNG when the fine print needs to stay legible. Students convert lecture diagrams and charts to PNG for use in notes or study guides. Office teams use PNG conversion for any page destined for a system or document where visual crispness is a priority.
