Most tools accept files up to 50 MB. If a file is rejected for size, try the Compress PDF tool first, then re-upload the smaller result.

Most tools will reject an encrypted PDF outright with a clear message, since they cannot safely read its contents. Use the Unlock PDF tool first (with the correct password) and then re-upload the result to your intended tool.

Every upload is checked before processing: file type, real file signature, size, and — for PDFs — whether the file is corrupted or encrypted. A rejection means one of these checks failed, and the error message explains which one.

We aim to preserve your document's original layout, fonts and images as closely as the target format allows, though complex layouts can shift slightly during any format conversion — that's a limitation of the underlying file formats, not something specific to My PDF.

Each upload passes several independent checks: allowed file extension, real file-content signature (not just the filename), maximum size, and a check for disguised executables — a file is rejected immediately if any check fails, before it ever reaches a processing tool.

No. Files are processed automatically by the requested tool and are never opened, reviewed or read by a person.

Corrupted PDFs are detected before any expensive processing step begins, and you receive a clear error explaining that the file appears damaged rather than a generic failure.

Yes. The site enforces HTTPS for every request, and download links use short-lived tokens rather than exposing predictable file paths.

Yes. Upload validation includes an executable-signature check (looking for disguised Windows/Linux executables and script shebangs) in addition to file-type and size checks, so a renamed executable is rejected even if it's disguised with a .pdf extension.

Very large or complex PDFs take longer to process. If a request times out, try compressing the file first or splitting it into smaller sections before re-running the tool.

Brief maintenance windows are used for updates and cleanup. The site is designed to make these as short and infrequent as possible, and core tools remain available the vast majority of the time.

No. Uploaded files and generated results are held in a temporary, isolated workspace only long enough to complete your request, then deleted automatically — usually within minutes.

Retention windows are measured in minutes, not days. Once your job finishes (or the short window expires, whichever comes first) both the upload and the result are removed automatically and cannot be recovered.
